September: History of Magic

 Dear Future Trin Paige,

Well, right now you're eleven when writing this. You were just sorted into Ravenclaw House, which was no surprise to your dad. He was a Gryffindor, but he always knew you would be an Eagle!

Learning history is super important, right? I mean, it's helpful to learn about how we all came to where we are now. After all, everything that happened in the past affects what is going on today.

Like you... remember how before coming to Hogwarts, Mum left? That really changed things a lot, didn't it? Dad said she couldn't handle us both being magic and she wasn't. She felt like she didn't know us anymore. When she left, it really hurt... but I guess it made sense. Dad and you moved to Hogsmeade, and it's been way better. No more hiding magic there! It was definitely an important event that changed your life forever!

So what are you doing now that you're in seventh year? I bet you're getting ready to take some post-graduate classes about charms or animals. Maybe you're a prefect or head girl... maybe you even have a boyfriend! I sure hope so!

Remember what you first thought of professor Sawyer? The first thing you noticed was that she was really pretty. You wondered if you would ever become that pretty... She seemed like a really nice, happy person though. Maybe history wouldn't be so bad after all!

Well, I better hand this letter in. Can't wait to see if I'm right in seven years!

Love from,

Trin.
